Beyond the classroom, Devyn has built a track record in behavioral support, restorative practices, and out-of-school enrichment that reflects her belief in whole-child development. She brings her creative background in dance, step, and music into advocacy efforts that uplift joy, belonging, and access for all learners.

Why are you passionate about education?

My lifelong passion for education has been shaped by diverse academic experiences. Navigating various school types and socioeconomic environments throughout my upbringing, I gained firsthand insight into the disparities faced by underserved students compared to their peers. My journey through Minnesota's charter and public schools, spanning both underserved urban and well-funded suburban areas, profoundly influenced my commitment to public education and advocacy. I firmly believe that all students deserve access to high-quality and rigorous instruction that acknowledges and prioritizes their complete identities. My drive is fueled by witnessing the positive impact of educational experiences on students and observing systemic changes that place students at the forefront.
